Mission 21 is a worldwide community of partner churches and organizations in Arica, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Mission 21 engages in sustainable development cooperation and humanitarian aid. As an international learning community, we create space for transcultural exchange and interreligious cooperation. Mission 21 is financially supported by the Protestant Churches in Switzerland, by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), foundations and individual donors. Mission 21 is recognized as a non-profit organization and certified by ZEWO and EduQua.
By midyear 2024, Mission 21 is looking for two new members for the Board:
President of the Board and one Board Member (f/m/d)
The new president and the new member are to be elected at the Mission Synod on 28th June 2024. All new Board members are visionary and strategically minded personalities. They are well-connected in the Protestant church, politics, or further relevant stakeholder groups.
Candidates should have good language skills (English, German at least passively, preferably French and Spanish) and must be able to attend board meetings in Basel in person. The board membership entails a minimum of 150-250 working hours per year.
Board members of Mission 21 (including the president) serve on a voluntary basis. They receive compensation for meeting attendance and travel expenses. Board members will gain valuable and meaningful insights through their participation in the learning community of Mission 21.
